Religion according to me

I am member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. AKA a Mormon. A friend of mine recently stopped coming to this church and is now attending a bible study group. She is very happy there, so I am happy for her. Something she said bothered me a bit, though. She commented that her bible study group is much more Christ oriented than the "Mormon" church. One thing is clear to me as a member of this church who attends meetings regularly, and even teaches a class each Sunday, this church IS a Christian church. We teach and believe that Jesus is the savior. However, (doctrine according to Tracy) I don't believe that we were sent here to focus our entire lives on Christ. We were sent away from him to LIVE. He is still accessible for guidance, we should be focusing on living our lives. We can best do this by abiding by the guidelines he has given us, and communicating with him through prayer and scripture study regularly, but our focus should be on living our lives, improving ourselves, and helping others along the way. Much like when we leave our parents home to start our own family. Ideally, we are taught the basics in our homes, then we leave our parents to create our own families and continue to learn and grow. Our parents should still be handy for us to commune with, but there are other things we need to focus on. Don't stray from the good things you have been taught, keep in touch, and live your best life.
