A new year and new beginnings

As this year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting upon the past twelve months and all that has happened in that short period of time.
Tyrel and Steffani are expecting a second child. My second grandson is due to be born in late April. This is something they have hoped for for a long time. Taygen will be 4 in a few months and is very excited about his new little brother who will be here soon. Tyrel is doing well at work and was recognized with 2 awards for his contribution to the company this year.
Levi is doing quite well at Nestle and has just been moved up a pay level. He bought a new Toyota Corolla. It is black with tan interior and suits him well. He is registered to start school at UVU in January and will major in Accounting. He is moving out next week and will share an apartment with a few other UVU students.
Christopher has decided to dedicate the next 2 years to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He began his mission in Seattle Washington the latter part of this year and will return home in November of 2011.
Levi and Chris were in an accident where they rolled and totaled Levi's Explorer, but they have both recovered completely. They were truly blessed.
I finished up chemo and radiation early in the year and am in remission at this time. While it took much longer than I anticipated to regain my strength, I am doing well now and am quite convinced that the cancer will not return. My neighbors, friends, family, and especially my boys helped to support me through that illness and all that it brought. The boys took on the responsibility of paying the bills and physically taking care of me and the house. Friends and neighbors took me to appointments and brought me food. So many people prayed for me, which gave me the strength to get through this past year. I will always be grateful for the kindness that was shown me during this time.
I was laid off early in the year, but I think my body and mind needed the extra time to recover, so for that I am grateful. Unable to find a new job, I have decided to go to school. I start next month.
Yes, 2009 brought many changes to my life, both good and bad, but I think there is something positive to be gained from all of it. I am sure that next year will bring much as well. My new grandson will come into this world. I will learn what it is like to be a student again. My children will continue to grow and learn. I am ready for a new year and all the possibilities that it brings. Happy New Year everyone!
