Last Radiation

Today is my last radiation treatment. I am so excited!!! I do not feel well today, and don't want to go anywhere, especially not the cancer center, but YAY it's the last one!!!
My mom and dad and Heather are going with me. I can't believe it has been 7 weeks. This will be my 33rd treatment. At first it seemed so daunting, but my mom suggested I start marking a calendar, crossing off each day after treatment, and since then time has sped by. I am so grateful that my side effects were as minimal as they have been. I made it through without a feeding tube, and only lost about 20 lbs.
the doctors say that the radiation will still continue to damage tissue for a few weeks, so it will be a bit before I feel great, but I can begin healing now and I am grateful for that.
I need to make sure I keep somewhat active. I know I will need to rest much too, but I have to get some exercise each day as well. The weather has been nice enough that I have been able to walk a bit most days, which has been great. And by a bit, I mean 7 or 8 houses. It might not seem like much, but it wears me out just walking that far and back home.
