I went out for Indian food tonight. I LOVE Indian food, and prior to my treatment, was going every week or two. I have sorely missed it. I don't have 100% normal taste back, but I was so happy to be able to eat it without it burning my throat. I ordered it mild, but probably could have done medium.
Afterward I went to the mall and Cabells's for a bit with Jared. It was nice to get out and feel normal.
Last night me and the boys the Christmas tree up so my house looks festive and I feel somewhat ready for this Christmas season.
I am so grateful for my boys and for the help they give me around the house. They had to do everything for a while. I am grateful that I am able to do more now. They are both working full time, and it's nice that they can come home and not have to take care of mom too.
I am also grateful for the friend I have that keep me company online during the day while I am home. I have a few people who give me some of their time each day, and it help me so much while I am here at the house.
It is 11pm and I am worn out from running around tonight. Funny how a relatively slow day can just wear me out. Although, I am getting more energy each day. Thank goodness. It looks like I will have a few normal weeks prior to chemo.

Food, Friends, Fun
Myself and a group of girlfriends get together for each others birthday every year for dinne. We usually pick a nice place and go out for rich foods and deserts. For Brookes birthday, she was kind enough to opt to come to my house since I'm not getting out much these days.
Kalynn brought broccoli soup, Robin brought shepherd's pie for the boys (very thoughtful!) and Kim brought a pumpkin pie (I can still taste pumpkin and its awesome!). Brooke is newest to our group and she is way fun and cute.
Treatment is still going well. I feel better this week than I have since it started. I am having some trouble sleeping at night the last few days, but I think I have found a trick. Instead of taking something to help me sleep just before bed, I sleep as long as I can (lately til 5am) then take the pill....i fall back asleep until about 11am and feel so much better throughout the day!
I am excited for Halloween tomorrow. It will be fun to see all the neighborkids dressed up. If any of you are near my house, stop by...I'll have chocolate!
Hope the weather stays well for all you that are going to be out and about.

Sleepless night
I had felt so good for days, but last night I hardly slept at all. I feel a large painful lump in my throat now where the radiation is killing the cells. It feels like a ball stuck in my throat, and it hurts to swallow, but also gags me when I try to swallow. I have to keep hydrated, but I don't want to eat because it hurts so bad. I tried taking something for pain last night. It only dulled it a bit, then it made me sick to my stomach and I spent a while on the bathroom floor hugging the toilet bowl again. Levi stayed up with me til I fell asleep at about 5am. He and Chris stayed home from church again. I am worried about them becoming inactive. I miss going to church. I miss food. I miss the taste and texture of food. I tried waffles last night. Even drenched in syrup, they were too rough going down. I think I'll stick to soups and puddings, altho pudding is starting to be too thick now.
I hope for more sleep tonight. Even with Ambian, I only got a couple hours last night.

MMMM chicken
A friend brought me some chicken and rolls and potato salad tonight, and I was able to hold it down (so far, it's only been 1/2 an hour). Seems odd to be blogging about what I eat or don't eat everyday. Maybe I should rename this "did Tracy puke today?" or something.
My morning started out pretty good...ate a bowl of cereal, felt ok. Showered (hot shower, best part of the day). Chatted for a while with some friends online, then went to my radiation appt. I get a shot just before radiation, and it makes me sick. One of the side effects. Ironically, the shot is intended to reduce the side effects of the radiation to my kidneys, salivary glands, and my ovaries (am I really gonna get a chance to use them before they shrivel up anyway???).
I came home and had a few visitors. Jon, Jared, Isabel, Kristin and Elizabeth (she is the friend/neighbor/relief society president who brought the chicken.
All in all, it has been a pretty good day. I think, though, I will call it a night. I am exhausted!
YAY tomorrow is friday and then I get two days off treatment!
